Aamir is shown as a playboy in the film....and is romancing in this song with a hot female where Manisha sees and realises that shes in love....
Since Romance is in the air...heres 'Mera Mann kyu tumhe chahe' for your reckoning....
This song i shall dedicate to a new person in my life who is like a fresh lily....

exactly like the girl romancing with me....oops!Aamir.....

Zameer...A film with AB towering as usual over the rest of the crowd.
This song used an excellent guitar piece to which i took an instant liking....
and Kishoreda again with that flow of his voice....
This song has an excellent meaning and conveys about your feelings in a very melodramatic way...
Which is why this song is my choice on my blog as on today....
This day still has an importance in my life...

And the song....an indication of my feelings after six years...

Aandhi-The name and song itself created a 'Storm' during its release...
This song used to touch all the chords of my heart and while recording... this is one of the numbers where i really missed someone dearly...
Maybe thats the reason i got all the nuances correctly and the feel of the vocal blended perfectly with the nightingale....\
A superb duet to listen to....and at a time when years have gone by...an appropriate song to retouch the heart & soul of someone who loved me at one time....

Amar Prem-A classic with Rajesh Khanna and Sharmila at their very best....RD Burman scoring with all songs in the erstwhile Bengali classical format...
This number was brilliant since it depicted the person who has been ditched in love and has resorted to drinking.....to hide his sorrows.....
Kishoreda here really teaches  the art of pouring your emotions into the microphone...
Which is what ive tried to do.....

All those whove loved and lost should enjoy this number.....And those whove not...enjoy the music...

Gam ka fasana

Manchali-Again a brilliant film from the 70's with Sanjeev Kumar showing his complete versatality on his acting skills and comic timing...
This song is very special to me ....again flooded with a lot of memories of yesteryears...and ofcourse Storm's first contribution to lending her voice for Leena Chandavarkar in the film....
I still remember vividly the recording and her behaviour in front of the mic...
Kishoreda ofcourse was brilliant and as usual ive copied his every nuance exactly as he's sung....
So here's ''Gam ka fasana...ban gaya achha....

Trishul..A film of the 70's with Bachchan blazing away....
The songs of this film were decent...this being the hot number and surprisingly Yesudas lending that subdued angered voice to Bachchan....
Kishoreda as usual portraying that masti since the character is in love with the heroine....
Which brings forth the main question...
Does Love exist?????
My Answer is....

For those in love and together still....yes it exists...and shows...For those who had fallen in love and moved on.....still yes....that is...if you were really in love......cause thats the catch...

WOH SHAAM KUCH AJEEB THI

The Year...1969.....the film....KHAMOSHI.....the lyrics...Gulzar....the Music director....Hemant Kumar.....and the singer.....Kishoreda......and what a combination with Rajesh Khanna and Waheeda doin a superb job in complementing this song......
One of the best melodies ive ever heard and probably one of Kishoreda's biggest feather in his cap........
To try and attempt this song is only possible if youve experienced that ''Dard''....and seperation yourself....
The voice modulations are a true stamp of Hemant Kimar's music style.....but extremely effective here....
And the music.....super duper...
So here's one of my most favourite and Kishoreda's most adored song of the century......for your earbuds...

Ek Baar Musqura do.....A decent film with a love triangle....with the Mukherjee bros and Tanuja....
This song was a homework for all those percussion players at that time,since the beat was very fast.....and Kishoreda at a feverishly high pitch....to get that effect of near screaming.....for that anguish to come forth on the mic....
For me this song reminded me of the period when Storm left me....and hence you know how you feel when someone cheats you after promising...in fact i had recorded this song exactly one year after the separation.....in 2008...
But then...Time is the best Healer........And now...youre in love again....so thats life....

So here's "Tu Auron ki kyu ho gayi'...with all that anguish i had accumulated in 2007.....

 Prem Pujari....Superb songs all the way....Yaaron nilaam karo susti...
This was a classic song by Kishoreda and Bhupinder....

The harqats taken by both of them....superb...again an RD composition....
I just love this song...and the way Kishoreda has sung it!!!
It had to be on my blog....

Tu Pyaar Tu Preet

Two back to back numbers from 'Paraya Dhan'....This song was melody personified....superb lyrics and RD freaking out with Kishoreda and Lata's voice technique....

Voice control at its ultimate alongwith the different 'harqats' taken by both the singers...Super!!!
A must hear from the repertoire of Kishore and Lata's duets.....
But at the moment it is Nitin & Lata for you here....enjoy it!!!

DIL HAYE MERA DIL

1971-Paraya Dhan...a superb film with superb songs composed by Punchamda and sung by Kishore Kumar and the nightingale of India....
This song has a unique lift in it....the melody coming out right thru and Kishoreda's voice throw....perfect....
To get that right took immense practise andbelieve me this number is not as easy to sing as it sounds.....

But then these legends always put in the riyaz for all their songs...unlike today...
So please check out and let me know if ive got it right......

Dil Kaa Aalam

Aashiqui- A complete Nadeem Shravan musical....With Sanu freaking out imitating Kishoreda's style to its core....
And so do countless others including me....
I have chosen this song since its an All Time fav of most listeners....and has a super romantic touch to it....
The video is quite entertaining and depicts romance quite well...

Phir kab milogi-A film of the 70's with Biswajit and Mala Sinha....
This song was immensely popular at that time and Mukesh was awarded with one of the singing trophies for this song...

The style of this singing was really unique and one has to really understand breath control to sing this song well....
I normally get Mukesh's style quite well...so ...this song sort of came naturally to me...

Neele Neele Ambar par

Kalaakar-a film of '83 starring the newcomer Kunal Goswami alongwith Sridevi...this song by Kishoreda was the highlight of the film and one of the few guitar based songs sung by the Maestro...

Another signature song from Kishoreda's library and a must for all Kishore Kumar fans....
So i guess it was natural for this song on my blog....

Ab Ke Saawan mein Jee Dare

Jaise ko Taisa-A film of '73...with Jeetendra and... Reena roy.....amazing resemblance to today's Sonakshi Sinha.....
This song was immensely popular at that time since it depicted erotism at its highest level....
And must say...Reena enacted it very well...
The nightingale as usual took the song away....and left Kishoreda wanting....

I still find this number more sensual than most of today's hot numbers....

This song is probably the best hummable song ever composed...since you tend to keep humming the tune after hearing it....
This song has been sung by several singers....in their own style....try out mine....

Salaamat Rahe Dostana Humara

DOSTANA- a film of the 80's with Shotgun and AB blazing away at that time...the song...one of the rare ones with the two maestro's clashing together in their own inimitable styles....

Im really lucky to have met Azam bhai thru the Tarana Tarang club....and he graciously accepted to sing Rafisaab's part...Thanks Azambhai for making this song extremely special....
So heres something special on Friendship Day to all my well wishers......

Kabhi Haan...Kabhi naa...Two numbers which were brilliant in the film....with Sanu goin nasal in both the songs....something which Kishoreda used as the master trick to beat the microphone....

Jewel Thief....A masterpiece by Vijay Anand...with Dev at his career best....and add to that the flavor of RD & Kishoreda......a combi of sheer brilliance.....

As a song i used to hum it purely since the bongo beats were amazing....and like many other Kishore Kumar songs...it used to sound very easy to sing in his style....

But now ive learnt a little bit of that art of compositon and playback of a song....

so...no copying now...just mood and sur.....

The words of this song are fantastic....and even today...apna haal is the same....

An amazing number from the repertoire of the legend and Ashaji.....Melody at its best...

I rate this number as one of the best duets that has happened in the golden era of melody....

This song had a unique feature...and its probably a lesson for all singers....the stretch of each word has to maintain the amplification till it ends........in other words....complete breath control...

I enjoyed recording this song.........it took my breath away......but then....the result.....thats what matters na......

So heres's Dooriyan Nazdikyan ban gayi...wth the debonair Dev Anand...and the southern siren of yesteryears...Vyjantimala....

The words of this song say it all....And the tune...very captivating.....adding up to a super spicy number-And lisa ray looking fab...

Extremely controlled lyrics make this song unique as also,the tempo is just perfect to the cinematography...making it a song worth watching over and over again.....

Roop Teraa Mastaana......Pyaar mera...Deewaanaa....The film-Aradhana.....who can ever forget this number...it took Kishoreda to a complete different level with this song...

Shakti Samanta took a single shot for the entire song sequence and i must say that both Rajesh Khanna And Sharmila Tagore did a superlative job.....

The emotion used by kishoreda in this song with the swar's is the USP, and i had to complete this number in one go...which meant...no mistakes...and which i would say was very tough....

So all you guys wanting to make love to your 'beau's'',go ahead and listen to this fantastic rendition by the combo of the two masters--SD & RD Burman....

They say when youre in love with someone....just say it...But then sometimes its very difficult to do so....fearing rejection...

I loved the style and tempo of this song...also it was a good challenge to imitate Jackie and Kader Khan saab in the inimitable style that has been portrayed.....

I really appreciate Mukul Aggarwal who has sung this song,alongwith Sudesh Bhonsle......very well done indeed!

As usual i can dedicate this song to only one person.......especially now!

Some songs are like....forever.....................and you wish to keep hearing them from time to time....

Every individual of the 70's era will remember this song .................

I can never forget the day i recorded it.It was just a few months after my Angioplasty that i was headed home in the evening and for some strange reason,i turned my car towards my studio.

There was this very strong urge to record this song,and though i knew the feverish pitch that Kishore Kumar had used,i somehow dint care............

The recording took just 40min,including set up time and i was myself amazed that evening,as to how i managed it in one go.

Rajesh Khanna's attitude in this song is completely mind blowing,and not to miss that belt over his shirt(probably to hide his belly)..........

I consider this as Kishore Kumar's best song............

It took me a lot of constraint...to try this song earlier...since..it feels very easy to hum this number if its playing on your system,due to the catchy tune....and so.. there's all the chances of messing it up during recording.

The harqat's taken by Kishoreda in this song is the USP....

But then thanks to his blessing...i was able to match up to his style...i think...

I do rate this number as one amongst my toughest...since the murkhi's taken by Kishore Kumar are very difficult to get right repeatedly....

Also...the naughty part about the song is that... the antra's if you listen carefully....show you the way how love starts........and where it ends up(as usual...in bed)!!!!

Kishoreda must have not sung more than 6-7 songs in a ghazal or qawwali style,since it really dint suit him...

But whatever he did was fabulous....At least that is what i think...

An ultimate duet with a complete classical base....and Kishoreda taking this song to a new high....

The nightingale of India completely mesmerises the listener in this song and if it was not for the Kishore Kumar style,the male version would have sounded like a drab....

I had kept only Dev sahab's antics in mind while recording this song, and hope to receive your feedbacks on the outcome...

Gambler-this song had an amazing end....lekin lagaya hai...jo dao humne...woh jeet kar aayenge hi....And I've taken this line to heart....Lets see what the prophecy says....

Kishoreda has inspired me such a lot in this song that i felt that I'm too literally in that same state of mind!

I normally don't prefer shayaris...but this song was too good to resist!!

Dev Anand looks a little funny with that moustache...but then its all about the song and the feelings....so try not to laugh....

And of course no prizes for guessing...since this song had been sung only for Storm....

And i dedicate it to her....

Abhimaan---Ego...A brilliant film with amazing songs...SD at his very best ably supported by the upcoming master at that time...RD Burman..

Meet na mila is another signature song of Kishoreda....i doubt if anyone else could have taken those aalaap's similarly........

I just love this song...again simply becoz.. humaare zindagi mein bhi koi meet raha hi nahin....

Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa...A film with SRK and Suchitra...This song was the one which really scored brownie points for Sanu...And what a brilliant way he sang this...the complete Kishoreda touch!!

It took a lot of mental tuning to adjust to the balance and rhythm of this song since the scale which Sanu has used is similar to what Kishoreda used in 'Sama hai shaana"...with a little nasal touch....

Its been one of my fav romantic numbers and i hope youl enjoy it too.....

Dedicate this to someone i really love....the new storm in my life...

Dekha Maine Dekha

Victoria No 203-A super film with Saira Banu & Navin Nischol.....

This song was a super vibrant number and another signature song of the Legend...

To get that energy into the bloody mic needed the same histrionics as what Navin Nishchol has done on screen....

Im really amazed at the choreography of this number to keep up with that pace of the song...all the time....

I think Saira and Navin have done an excellent job at it...

Like always I've tried to just keep that energy level same...throughout the song....

though in the process i had nearly knocked the mic down....

So here's 'Dekha Maine Dekha'.....as another acid test.....check it out!!!

Musafir Hoon Yaaron

This song is a complete signature number of Kishoreda.

It is impossible that any Kishore Kumar fan will not attempt to sing this song and place it in his repertiore of collections.

As far as I'm concerned....not only am i a major Kishoreda's Fan...but also am a continuous Traveller..... practically not at home most of the time...

Hence this song has a special meaning for me...

So guys...here's a super duper number from the film--PARICHAY...with Jeetendra and Jaya Bhaduri for your ready reckoning and pleasure....

Chhod kar tere

Woh Kaun thi-A brilliant B&W suspense thriller of the 60's,with amazing songs...

This particular number was pure melody,enacted superbly by Helen...and of course the then chocolate hero...Manoj Kumar!Helen's way of looking reminds me of Swati...same style......

This song has been so beautifully sung by Lata Mangeshkar that i believe if Goddess Saraswati herself would have sung this,it would have been similar....

I have for the first time attempted to enact a playback for Manoj Kumar whose ghost voice had been Mahendra Kapoor for ages.....

Romance of that era was so different....and....beautiful.....

You can't help but remember the love of your life........at least i did.....Is someone listening....♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡

Here's a double dose of 'Mere Jeevan Saathi'' with back to back songs of one of the greatest films which boasted of all hit songs.

On my blog this is the third number from the same film.

Kishoreda has pumped in that extra adrenaline in this song which sounded superb on screen but nearly gave me another stroke,to match it word to word.

Rajesh Khanna was the superstar by then and this song is still played and used by many ads even today...
