Swami....A film which spoke about a young village girl falling in love with an urban guy who goes away after she has fallen in love with him...
And she then has to get into an arranged marriage....
Kishoreda got that tone set for this background score from the first chord....and i followed promptly....
What a feeling singing this song....
Its like you love someone from your heart and then....time takes them away.....

After that...youve got to face reality.....
One day...my bachhuu will also go.......

Din Dhal Jaaye

Guide-The Masterpiece from Navketan...with SD freaking out with his boundless experience in melodies....
Rafi was probably made to mesmerize himself in this song or drink four pegs of Scotch....
What a voice throw...
Learnt a lot singing this song....owe it to the melody and music of SD Burman...
Mood was the key....and thats how i played it....with a little bit of Red Wine to add to the flavor....
Great Song to be with....in melancholy....

Aaj kal tere mere pyar ke charche

Brahmachari....A film of 1968 with Shankar Jaikishan reigning in the commercial stream....and the Beatles making a grand entry with their music all over over the world....
This beat picked straight from a Beatles track and adapted to suit the Indian film music....so well...
The song has that tempo and Shammi Kapoor with Mumtaz have excelled in their performance...
I have tried to maintain that composure which Rafi sahab does...in his own unique style....unlike Kishoreda's histrionics..........

The timing for this song is apt...since everyone seems to know of my love affair.....
So,heres aaj kal tere mere pyar ke charche har zubaan par.....sab ko maalum hai aur sab ko khabar ho gayee......................

Kora Kagaz tha

Aradhana--A classic from the 70's....''Kora kagaz tha'' happening to be one of the five super duper songs from the repertoire of SD & RD Burman....
Again Kishore Kumar using his unique style and technique which was to become history....
I felt Kishoreda went a wee bit too nasal in this song...but when you attempt this song in his inimitable style you realise that it was important to get that feel going nasal....
Lataji was like....as usual.... effortless....
A pleasure having technology to sing with her....
The more you sing...you realise how much of experience and practise must have gone into it....
And that voice....true nightingale...So here's Kora kagaz tha ye mann mera....with the true nightingale…

This song I've dedicated to someone whom I've started falling in love…heres to u sweetu...

Bachhke rehna re baba

Pukar...a film of 1983...with Bacchhan,Zeenat,Randhir and Tina.....This song has a very catchy tune composed by the legendary RD Burman....with Kishoreda singing the first half with Asha Bhonsle....and the subsequent part sung by none other than RD himself......for Bacchhan.....
The Portuguese touch coming very strongly which is prevalent in Goa even today....

Enjoy...the Goan dance form...with ...Bachh ke rehna re baba....

Ye Jo Mohobbat Ho

Kati Patang again.....A film of the 70's.....Again another masterpiece from Kishoreda.....On one side blaming Romance to the pits....
Truly this song comes to all those who have failed in love....
And the composition by RD....true genius...
This song has a unique flow to it....and once youve caught on u go thru it quite easily...

So heres Ýe jo Mohobbat hai.....Dont fall in love man!!!

Pyaar Deewana Hota Hai

Kati Patang.....Kishoreda's time to enforce the fact that he was truly a versatile genius...
The way in which he has rendered all the numbers in this movie is like cult for any learner in playback singing.
Rajesh Khanna with his taqdeer obviously capitalising on this...
This song is the second most difficult number i have rated since to get every nuance of his style took a huge amount of effort and perseverance,not only with the singing but also the sound engineering..
But as usual the end result is what singers look forward to....

A classic again from Kishoreda and RD.....

Likha hai teri aankhon mein

Teen Devian....A film where Dev Anand is a guy whose only interested in women and is a compulsive flirt....
This song alongwith the other song in this film (Khwab ho tum ya) was very catchy and a typical 60's duet with Kishoreda using his temperamental genius effectively....

Tough song since Latabai just cruises thru it in full control... leaving you ...wanting....

Kali palak teri gori

chor chor....a brilliant film of the 70's with Dharmendra and Tanuja at their best....
This song was amongst the three other very good songs and had a very catchy tune to it...from the versatile RD.....
Kishoreda as usual got his histrionics into it and Lata was as flawless as ever...

Shetal has done a wonderful job in this song as you can see....
Check out 'Kali palak teri gori'....

O Mehbooba...Tere Dil ke paas hi

Sangam-A triangular love story by the famous Raj Kapoor...with Rajendra Kumar and Vyjantimala in the lead....Amazing songs by Mukesh....who normally sang for Raj Kapoor.....
This song had an excellent beat and set the rhythm for the location it was directed in.
One of my favourites from the repertoire of the great Mukesh....

Hope it suits my style of singing nasal here....unlike Kishoreda....

Ye Dosti...Hum nahin Todenge

Sholay-An epic film with all stalwarts in it.....took the 70's crowd by storm....i remember coming out of the theatre in a daze....everything in the movie was superlative.....
This song stuck in my mind for years and i dreamt of me and my good friend Manoj singing it together....
This blog has given me that platform now to bradcast my feelings...
